EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU INVEST IN EYELASH EXTENSIONS ADHESIVES IN AUSTRALIA

Currently, there are countless big box companies that are selling mislabelled and harmful eyelash extension adhesives to their customers. It’s important that you know the truth of what you’re using with your eyelash extensions, before it’s too late and you have damaging effects.

Before we can explain the right type of eyelash extension stylist and companies to trust, we must discuss the unsafe, dangerous elements going into eyelash extension adhesives throughout Australia. There are currently regulations in place for the country, but the corporate giants are getting around the regulations in a variety of ways.

THE BIG 3 THINGS YOU NEED TO BE WARY OF:

THE BRAND

If you are considering eyelash extensions, you need to do your research. It’s important to know the company that is wholesaling the product, but also the seller who is providing the product and service to you. Don’t get distracted by shiny packaging and pretty labels. The packaging is designed to make you buy the shiny object without consideration for it’s ingredients.

THE INGREDIENTS

You need to take the time to also research the ingredients of the eyelash extension adhesives. The adhesive ingredients are going to be attaching to your skin and eyelash follicles for quite some time – know what you are putting into your body before you do it.

THE PROCESS

Sometimes, companies are able to leave vague ingredient listings, and general information about their brand. If you do enough research, you should be able to find their process. Can’t find how they make their product? Can’t find how the stylist will actually be doing your eyelash extensions? Don’t trust them. The process should be thoroughly explained, and well established if they are a credible company.

WHAT THE CORPORATE GIANTS ARE UP TO:

Currently, there are countless companies [out there that are convincing their target audience that their adhesives are safe to use, luring them with fancy names, shiny stickers and alluring bottles. This is simply not true. As a big company, they are able to take on the current cosmetic 99.9% grade adhesives offered but only generate a short-term profit. What they do is import the fastest and cheapest options available. Most of the corporate companies are finding cheap imports from other countries that have little or no regard for what’s in them as Australia has no regulations in this industry.

99% of products from Asia do not conform to the industry standards that we have in Australia.

If you are purchasing inexpensive eyelash extension adhesives, you are more than likely purchasing a product that was engineered and manufactured in Asia, where the safety and quality of the final product is not a top priority. Where the cheaper the production the higher the profit margins are the overall goal.

This means, during production of materials, they are using out of date materials, or at least close to out of date materials because they are cheaper and easier to come by. They are creating a compilation of engineered properties that are passed (and sold) as medical grade adhesive. Some of the ingredients they use to create the adhesive are so dangerous and incorrect, you could find some of the same things in your garden shed.

DANGEROUS SIDE EFFECTS OF UNREGULATED ADHESIVES:

  • Mislabelled (and dangerous) ingredients
  • Injury to your natural lashes
  • Breaking off of your natural lashes
  • Clumping of your lashes
  • Infection due to blocked follicles

If any of the products were salon-safe or met the industry standard, you would not be at risk for any of these issues. These are all directly connected to poor production, dangerous materials, and cheap business.

The Safer, Legitimate Option for Eyelash Extensions Adhesive:

The first piece of advice, as iterated above, is to do your research. Find a trustworthy brand that sells high quality products. Then, find a stylist who is passionate about eyelash extensions. The more passionate they are about a service and product, the more likely they are in it for the long-term, investing in the right companies and brands themselves.

It’s a great goal to find a company and seller who is it in for the long run, rather than the short-term sale. If the extensions, adhesives, and services cost more – that typically means the wholesale cost is higher for the person you are paying. Safe adhesives are not cheap, nor are industry-standard ingredients.

Find a Highly Reputable Lash Stylist:

If someone is a true lash stylist, they know the industry, and are more than prepared to pay that additional expense as they are building their clientele. Since they are investing more upfront, and taking their time finding their specific market, they are building not just a business, but also an elite reputation and safe salon. They are in it for the long-term, and see the reasons to invest in the right products. Lastly, it means they are confident in who they are as a brand and stylist – they know the cost to be in the industry, and to utilise EU approved products.

Find the Brands That are Transparent:

Find the brands of eyelash extensions and adhesives that are transparent in both their process and ingredient lists. The EU has a strenuous process for products to be approved, so if you find any that are EU approved, you are good to go. Find salon grade ingredients, and become educated on what the best ingredients really are for you. Again, safe ingredients will always cost more money, but they will also have the least amount of side effects and potential danger attached.

Search for the SALON SAFE stickers:

Soon, you will have someone doing the work for you when it comes to researching the safest brands and companies when it comes to eyelash extension adhesives, salons, and all in between. As a company that is passionate about people knowing what they are putting on their bodies, and into their lives, we had to do something.

So, now any salon or brand that meets the standard of safety will be able to place a SALON SAFE sticker on their product and in their windows. That way, you will know if a salon is safe prior to even entering the storefront. You can know if a product meets the standards, as you read the safe ingredient list.

It’s still important to do the research. We’re just happy to help you along the way.

DO NOT SETTLE FOR THE CHEAPER OPTION:

Do not settle for less than safe, healthy, and ethical eyelash extension products and processes. Do not put yourself at risk with a cheaper option. Know what you are buying, know who you are supporting, and ultimately, know you are safe.

Big companies want you to choose the convenient and cheaper route. Do not give into their schemes and ploys. Instead, take your time finding someone you trust, with a product that has the SALON SAFE endorsement, today!
